The participants were both blind and sighted individuals, whose eyes I covered to simulate blindness. The intention behind these encounters was and still is, to continue creating spaces of empathy and connection with others and with oneself. An invitation to give oneself the gift time to explore and connect with the emotions, questions, and feelings that arise when working blind, in conversation with others and using noble materials such as clay.

There were two tactile encounters done. Both in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the first one in December 2023, and the second one in February 2024. My guests and collaborators, Sandra, Paola, Zezé and Mabel, are four colleagues that lost their sense of sight in different stages of life, due to different reasons.

There was no task to follow. Only get to know each other and give birth to new conversations and opportunities for blind people to forget they are missing the sense of sight and remember that they have a superpower that it is to see through the sense of touch.

In 2024 I was then invited to recreate this tactile encounters at Modern Museum of Art of Buenos Aires and during my solo show, "El Ojo que Distrae".
