A TACTILE DIALOGUE

Collective Group Show/ Central Saint Martins, London, July 2024

My final CSM project was called A Tactile Dialogue. During this collective show I presented the "EZ EZ final sculpture", a 3D printed sculpture of a 3D scan done during the first tactile encounter in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Together with the sculpture that was aimed to be touched, I shared a 3 minute documentary video about the tactile encounters.

My research and my practice aim to bridge the gap between the visual and the tactile sense, to serve as a testament to the universality of touch.

These are some of the questions and phrases that arouse during my investigation and along the two year MFA.

Can we speak the language of touch? Let's encounter reality through our senses by activating a tactile look.

What’s that asset that you have, that you can share with me? This is a tactile journey where we all have something to share and create.

"You lose your SIGHT but NOT YOUR LIFE. You lose your SIGHT but not YOUR ESSENCE. You lose YOUR SIGHT and YOUR SHAME. This is MY WORLD, this is MY BLINDNESS", — Zezé Fassmor, blind participant.
