Collective Show/ Galerie Joseph, Paris, 10-14 September 2026

Mixed-media artist Delfina Velar de Irigoyen presents “The Shape of a Silence / Fragments,” a series of works that emerged from her “soul sessions.” For Delfina, art is a channel for healing. It takes her to unknown places and allows her to move through them without fear. It is a necessity, an essential part of her everyday life.

Today, painting reemerges in a different form, at a different scale and through a different materiality, reinterpreted as a tapestry measuring 110 × 105 cm. The textile piece is composed of modules that can inhabit a space in different ways.

The technique used is tufting, with cotton yarn. The modules, whether brought together, separated, shifted, or even selected in just a small portion, become the work in its entirety. Each decision allows users to create a piece of their own—unique and ever-changing.
